India-ICIMOD day is taking place on 30 September 2011 in New Delhi with the theme: ‘Challenges in Climate Change Resilience and Adaptation: Potential for collaboration between ICIMOD and India’. The event will strengthen ICIMOD’s collaboration with the Indian Government and various Indian institutions. It is also hoped that the event will allow ICIMOD to explore new partnerships for collaboration and intensify the participation of Indian institutions in regional programmes.

The main objectives of the India-ICIMOD day are to:

To showcase ICIMOD’s activities in India in collaboration with G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development and other national institutions/partners;
facilitate the exchange of information on the various activities of ICIMOD in India; and
bring together relevant national institutions and experts to chalk out a broad India-ICIMOD collaboration facility for climate change adaptation and to discuss other relevant topics.

The event is being organised by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development, and ICIMOD.
