Haiti: Training course on resilience measurement
GOAL is organizing a 5-day workshop on measuring resilience based on the "Analysis of the Resilience of Communities to Disasters" (ARC-D) methodology in the context of an OFDA-funded project.
This training will mainly focus on how to use the ARC-D toolkit. The tool was developed by GOAL in 2013, rolled out and tested in 11 countries between 2014 and 2015, and a second version, based on learnings, was published in 2016.
The ARC-D is an easy tool to implement. It assesses the community’s disaster resilience level (on a Likert scale from 1 to 5) to a chosen risk scenario through a consensus-based structured Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The FGD is guided by 30 key questions, each linked to a community-level resilience component.
The ARC-D toolkit is available in French, Spanish and English.
The participants of the training will be a mix of NGO and government representatives involved in resilience building projects funded by USAID.
By invitation only.
