The Government of Bangladesh (GoB) has launched a two-year pilot programme on developing a National Mechanism on Loss and Damage. This two-year pilot phase will experiment with different aspects of loss and damage, including both fast onset and slow onset impacts, insurance as a potential coping mechanism and, enabled migration etc.

The objective of the event is to share in GoB’s decision to set up a National Mechanism on Loss and Damage in Bangladesh.

ActionAid Bangladesh and the International Center for Climate Change and Development is pleased to invite you to the 'Experience Sharing Event on Establishing a National Mechanism on Climate Change Induced Disaster Loss and Damage in Bangladesh'. 

The event will take place in Katowice, Poland on 12th December 2018 from 7:00pm to 8:45pm. Mr. Md. Shah Kamal, Secretary, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury, Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change will present as special guest.
