The Center for Urban Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience will commit to undertake research and practices that will advance risk reduction and resilience building in urban areas that are prone to natural hazards and the impacts of climate change.
Such research and practices will include:
a) Integrated and Stand-Alone Strategies for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation, as well as Resilience Building in Urban Areas;
b) Research on the New Urban Form to Promote Sustainable and Resilient Urban Development Practices; and
c) Development of Innovative Research that will involve Sustainable Building Technologies and Energy Efficiency for Climate Change Adaptation
Promote knowledge and practices on disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and urban resilience building to different stakeholders and form partnerships with them so that such knowledge can be adapted in practice globally.
Dissemination of new research and practical information on the Center for Urban Disaster Risk and Resilience Website, in addition to by other means of media, such as in scientific publications, lectures, conferences, and workshops.
