Beijing agenda for global action on gender-sensitive disaster risk reduction

Source(s):

This statement, also known as the 'Beijing Declaration for Action', is a set of nine achievable actions before 2015 to ensure that a gender perspective is integrated into policies and programmes on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

This plan of action was endorsed by participants from 50 countries, UN agencies and Civil Societies at the International Conference on Gender and Disaster Risk Reduction held at Beijing, China from 20-22 April 2009. It is to be submitted to the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, Second Session, in Geneva in June 2009.
