This brochure is a joint paper of the United Nations Millennium Campaign in Asia and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) advocating for the commitment of the Asian Countries in progressing towards the fulfillment of the millennium development goals (MDGs) by addressing issues related to disaster risk reduction.

It was developed for the 2nd Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, held on November 7-8, 2007 in New Delhi, India, and the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development “Brainstorming Meeting on Parliamentarians’ Advocacy on the MDGs", held on November 6-7, 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand.
