Source(s):  Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN)

On June 13, 2015, the Vere River flash floods caused catastrophic damage within the city limits of Tbilisi, Georgia. This publication analyses the physical-geographical and geo-ecological preconditions for the occurrence of the flash floods. Moreover, the report assesses rehabilitation efforts undertaken to mitigate the consequences of the floods, and also provides general recommendations for mitigation or prevention of negative effects of these extreme natural events.
