Adaptation to climate change: planning guidance for health and social care organisations

Source(s):  NHS England (NHS)
Public Health England (PHE)

This guidance looks at climate change adaptation and outlines what it is, why it is important for NHS and health and social care organizations, and what actions they can take being at the forefront of action to address the health impacts of climate change adaptation. This paper emphasizes the importance of building preparedness and resilience to the predicted health impacts of climate change which will save costs in the short and long term, protect lives and deliver health outcomes. Adaptation planning is an opportunity to ensure a cohesive approach to current and future planning.
