Mapping and study of coastal water bodies in Nagapattinam district

Source(s):  Non-Governmental Organization Coordination and Resource Centre (NCRC)

This study maps the irrigation/drainage canals and the other water bodies of coastal Nagapattinam in an effort to comprehend their present status and to understand the obstructions that are impeding their effective functioning. The study has also attempted to put forward recommendations and suggestions on improving the efficiency of the system along with the estimated costs. This has been done with the complete support and collaboration of the different key players such as the PWD, AED, GWD (state and central), NGOs and the farming communities.
