Global consultations are organized by UNISDR or partner agencies, involving member states, organizations and stakeholder groups from different continents and regions. These include the on-line dialogues and the Advisory Group for the post-2015 framework for DRR.
Regional consultations aim for countries and stakeholder groups to assess the progress and challenges in developing regional strategies and plans for reducing disaster risks including trans-boundary risks in the region.
National consultations aim to engage multi-stakeholder dialogue at the country level to discuss the development of the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction by building upon the national reporting process, sharing insights on challenges in reducing risks and impacts of disasters.
Local consultations aim to engage local governments and communities in the discussions on how to build resilience to disasters and what needs to be in a post-2015 framework on disaster risk reduction from a local perspective.
The inclusive consultative process seeks to engage with many stakeholders such as national and local governments, private sector and civil society, vulnerable groups, parliamentarians, youth, science and technology institutions, media and intergovernmental bodies.
Thematic consultations address significant issues of reducing disaster risk and building resilience learnt from HFA implementation and emerging post-2015 framework for DRR consultations such as: risk governance, land use planning, gender and vulnerable groups. The consultation is based on the background paper Towards a Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. This paper presents the context and a timeframe.
Invited by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Advisory Group provides guidance on substantive and process related matters to the SRSG on the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction.
Consultative meetings engage a wide range of stakeholders to review successes and lessons, identify challenges and solutions to risk reduction. Post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction consultative meetings are taking place around the globe.
A range of partners and stakeholders are committed to reducing the risks and impacts of disasters and building community resilience. The consultations around a post-2015 framework will harness ideas from stakeholders including national and local governments, interest groups and community practitioners, NGOs, parliamentarians, academics, science and technology institutions, the private sector and media, international agencies and regional intergovernmental bodies.

Online dialogues provide an opportunity to further explore and debate specific topics to be considered in a post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction.
