Mission
APOWA is a community of volunteers, conservationists, educationists and reserchers. It acts to conserve coastal and mangrove resources, threatened species and animal welfare in coastal Orissa, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on ground work and take account of human needs. APOWA also provides rapid and effective relief, rescue and rehabilitation support to the victims of any disasters in the coastal district of Orissa state. It focuses on saving of lives and livelihoods, planning for disaster risk reduction and assisting the most vulnerable groups in this poor region of the country.
