Mission

Advanced knowledge of seismic hazards and their effects will diminish impacts of future earthquakes. The mission of the Center is focused towards this vision by targeting new loss-reduction measures through a unified approach known as Consequence-Based Engineering. The systems-level approach to earthquake research inherent in the MAE Center programs builds on development of new technologies and fundamental knowledge to strive towards this vision.
