ScHARR is one of the leading health service research institutions in the UK with a varied portfolio of research strengths including health economics and decision science, clinical research, emergency medicine research, and global public health. It is also one of the UK's National Schools of Public Health.
DRR activities
Education, information and public awareness (HFA 3)
ScHARR runs various postgraduate academic courses in public health and health management that include modules in communicable disease control as well as disaster and emergency management.
Preparedness for effective response (HFA 5)

Other activities
ScHARR staff have been involved in various external consultancy projects including health needs assessments post emergency, evidence reviews for interventions in emergency/disaster settings, as well as programme evaluations for NGOs and the WHO.
