Mission

The Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR) is a process of regional integration initially instituted by Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Venezuela and Bolivia have joined this phase in the process of accession.

MERCOSUR is an open and dynamic process. Since its inception, its main objective was to foster a common space that would generate commercial and investment opportunities through the competitive integration of national economies into the international market. As a result, it has established multiple agreements with countries or groups of countries, granting them, in some cases, Associated States - the situation of South American countries. They participate in activities and meetings of the bloc and have trade preferences with States Parties. MERCOSUR has also signed trade, political or cooperation agreements with a diverse number of nations and agencies on five continents.
