Mission

The National Center for Prevention and Combat of Forest Fires, Prevfogo, is a specialized center within the structure of Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis, IBAMA), responsible for the policy and fighting forest fires throughout the country, including activities related to educational campaigns, training and capacity building of farmers and firefighters, monitoring and research.
