A Youth based organization, Footsteps aims to empower the youth of our country Bangladesh by involving and training them in events and initiatives based on social, national, environmental and burning issues. The organization also aims to engage itself in the development sector, bringing about positive changes in the economy.
Flooding is a common scenario in Bangladesh, which leads to destruction of property, widespread of water borne,water bred and water based diseases and loss of livelihood. This natural calamity has an overwhelming effect on the people in rural areas, who lack the knowledge and financial capability to adapt to the adversity of flooding. Therefore, Footsteps looks forward in providing adaptation solutions to flooding by teaching techniques and providing economical solutions collected from different international NGOs to help the rural people adapt to this natural calamity, which has become harsher due to the changing climate.
Enhancing Adaptation in flood prone regions in Bangladesh by providing clean water solutions and techniques (water purification tablets, Filtration Straw,etc) through Project 'Solutions' with funding from different organizations and companies.
The Organization also aims to research about disaster management by attending conferences and summits related to the issue, in order to implement the theories and techniques learned back in the hazardous regions of the country.

To ensure better adaptation capability in flood prone regions of Bangladesh and educate the rural community in these hazardous areas about the changing climate and necessary precautions to be taken during times of flooding.

Spreading the message about the risks and conditions of high risk flooding zones through Social media in order to capture attention of audience from different professions and regions,both nationally and internationally and to attract investors to invest in the betterment in the adaptation procedure of the flood prone regions.
Identifying the areas prone to flooding and learning about the living standards and economical conditions in those areas. Identifying the flora and Fauna of the region and finding out ways to preserve and use them in providing resistance to flooding. Assessing the risk factor of the particular area and setting up a base to carry out activity of 'Project Solutions'
Providing the rural community in flood prone regions with knowledge regarding Climate Change and steps and precautions to take during pre and post flooding situations through videos and pictures.
Help the rural community identify flood risk land and areas, and encourage them to avoid living near those areas. i.e living on river banks, especially during the monsoon season. Providing water purification tablets and filtration straws to reduce spread of water related diseases like diarrhea,etc.
Organizing resistance force and medical aid team, who are to remain active during monsoon season when flooding usually occurs. Relocating population living in high risk areas.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
