In the field of environment and water management various projects regarding "the development of the water level on the German North and East Sea coast" as well as projects on "flood control measures" for coastal areas and inland lakes are processed.
The research of the Hydraulic Engineering and Hydromechanics Department is directed at the history of hydrological and hydro engineering-based system analyses as well as on river basin management and coastal area management. Thereby classic hydraulic engineering/river development techniques and also numerical and physical model procedures of hydraulics and hydrology are applied.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
