Making disaster risk reduction a policy priority, institutional strengthening (HFA 1)

The General Directorate of Emergencies and Civil protection is involved in a project to create a local platform for risk reduction as an interdepartamental advisory body to facilitate advise, coordination and control of risk.

Risk assessment and early warning systems (HFA 2)

-Record and analyse of statistical information on contingencies.
-Integrated Centre of Security and Emergencies of Madrid: brings together in one single place the control points for municipal Policy, Fire Brigade, Urgency and Rescue Service and Mobility Service, increasing the efficiency of actions and guaranteeing better coordination.

Education, information and public awareness (HFA 3)

-Public campaigns of dissemination and information targeted to citizens
-Citizens training based on two programs: one aimed at alerting in case of an emergency and the other at providing first aid to people affected

Improve psychosocial preparedness of the community
