1.- Making the cities resilient as a priority and policy to reduce the disaster risk reduction, the sensitizing and strenghten of the population

The retrofit program of schools and health locals involving the local community (women and men) using the seismic and resistant construction program technology and spread the exerience in the local and national level.
Estrategia works in DRR since 23 years ago and is engaged with vulnerable communities from urban and rural areas. For that we are involved in the Campaign of Cities Resilient. Our activities are related to obtain the registration of local government districts to become resilient cities. Estrategia make possible the registration of six local governments to the Cities Resilient Campaign until now.
The local governments belong to the Lima Provinces Region and two Provinces, Yauyos Province and Cañete Province.
The local governments belong to the following districts:
- Rimac local government district, located in the city of Lima close to Lima city core. The Mayor Dr. Enrique Peramas Diaz launched the district of Rimac as a City Resilient. The Mayor lead the local governments of Lima in launching his district as a City Resilient.
- Chocos district from Yauyos Province located at the High Andean of Peru. The Mayor Mr. Macedonio Aburto Gutierrez launched his district as the first rural City Resilient in Peru.
- Lincha district from Yauyos Province located at the High Andean of Peru. The Mayor registered the Lincha district in the Cities Resilient Campaign
- Cacra district from Yauyos Province located at the High Andean of Peru. The Mayor registered his district in the Cities Resilient Campaign
- Azangaro district from Yauyos Province located at the High Andean of Peru. The Mayor registered his district in the Cities Resilient Campaign
- Imperial district from Cañete Province located in the Coast. The Mayor registered his district in the Cities Resilient Campaign.
These local governments are engaged with the accomplishment of the ten steps from the Campaign to become Resilient Cities. Estrategia is also engaged in follow up the accomplishment of the work of the districts in DRR programs.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
