Call for organizing teams: Help shape substantive sessions of the GP2019

Following the consultation process on the thematic focus and substantive aspects of the 2019 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction with Governments, UN system and stakeholders over February-May 2018, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), in close coordination with the Government of Switzerland, produced a preliminary draft programme for the Global Platform that builds on comments and recommendations received. UNISDR thanks all the Governments, members of the UN system and stakeholders for their valuable inputs and contribution to this process.

As part of its continued commitment to ensuring an inclusive and multi-stakeholder approach to the Global Platform, UNISDR invites interested Governments, UN system and stakeholder representatives to help shape the various substantive sessions by joining Organizing Teams. The application process is open from 6 June until 20 June. All applications will be reviewed to balance regional, gender and stakeholder distribution for each session. Selected applicants will be contacted during the week of 25-29 June, after which they can start working on designing and organizing their sessions.

How to apply:

Please send your expression of interest to join the Organizing Team, by specifying the session that you are interested in, no later than on 20 June, 2018. You can include up to 3 sessions as options, in the order of your preference. You can send your application to the following e-mail address: palm@un.org, please cc: nicholasjoseph.ramos@un.org.
