Manila – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has opened online media registration for the 46th Annual Meeting of ADB’s Board of Governors, to be held at the India Expo Mart Limited in Greater Noida, about 50 km outside Delhi, India from 2-5 May 2013.

The theme of the 2013 Annual Meeting is development through empowerment. Seminars will discuss ideas for financing Asia’s cities; innovations in generating “good” jobs; disaster risk reduction; promoting public services; emphasizing the role of science, technology and innovation in Asia’s growth; financing infrastructure; and building greater south-south cooperation.

About 4,000 participants including finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, and representatives from the private sector, academe, media, and civil society are expected to attend.

Online media registration will remain open until 20 April 2013. Accredited media will have access to all major Annual Meeting events, including seminars. Accreditation is extended solely for covering the Annual Meeting.

ADB's Annual Meetings allow Governors from ADB member countries to provide guidance on ADB administrative, financial, and operational directions. The meeting also provides opportunities for member governments to interact with ADB staff, nongovernment organizations, media, and representatives of observer countries, international organizations, academe, and the private sector.
