ADB to provide 35 mln USD to Cambodia for drought, flood mitigation


A 35 million U.S. dollar Asian Development Bank loan will finance Cambodia’s new disaster risk management project, reports Xinhua news agency on The six-year project aims to strengthen the country’s resilience to floods and droughts by increasing flood protection, enhancing critical infrastructure and flood forecasting systems and helping locals to adapt to climate change impacts through crop diversification. In addition, a gender action plan will involve women in the community-based disaster risk management.
