Japan's TEPCO admits downplaying tsunami risk
AFP reports that a new Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) report admits TEPCO's role and responsibility in the Fukushima nuclear plan disaster, calling their admission an 'about-face' with regard to their ability to have reasonably prepared for the threat of tsunami following the Great East Japan earthquake in 2011.
"There was concern that if new, severe accident measures were implemented, it could spread concern in the siting community that there is a problem with the safety of current plants." Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) said in a report.
