Women and men do not experience climate change the same way, writes Georgina Aboud on Alertnet. Since there are economic and cultural restrictions that restrict women's access to employment in most developing countries, their livelihoods are linked to climate-sensitive sectors like agriculture or water collection.

Bridge, a research programme has recently published a Cutting Edge Pack which urges to address climate change issues with gender sensitive approaches and policies. Their report and supporting materials on the Gender and Climate Change Programme is a result of collaboration with partners in Paraguay, Nigeria, Kenya, India, Colombia and Germany.
