Ghana: NADMO to establish disaster clubs in schools in Akuapem North

VibeGhana reports that the Akuapem North District Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) is to establish Disaster Volunteer Clubs (DVCs) in all second cycle schools in the district.The programme will include First Aid trainings and planting trees to serve as wind breaks.

Mr Doku, Akuapem North District Coordinator of NADMO, “expressed optimism that students, who would benefit from the disaster prevention programmes, would take the message home to help reduce disasters in the communities.”
