Tanzania: Vice-president Bilal roots for action on effect of climate change

Vice-President Mohammed Bilal made a call for a concerted effort in addressing natural hazards stressing that 'research priorities had to be identified which would help ensure sufficient climate change adaptation .. with the aim of achieving sustainable livelihoods of Africa’s communities and the world as a whole', reports The Guardian.

Dr Bilal made the call in Dar es Salaam yesterday at the launch of Mwalimu Nyerere Professorial Chair on Environment and Climate Change as part of the University of Dar es Salaam’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
