Munich Re ranks 2010 among worst years ever for climate disasters

Source(s):  Scientific American, a Division of Nature America, Inc.

In its report published yesterday, Munich Re called climate change a culprit in the long list of catastrophic natural disasters in 2010, adding to trends pointing to more frequent and riskier events. The Scientific American also echoes Munich Re's big stake in protecting against financial risks associated with natural disasters and warns against the potential increase of insurance policies and rates if risks keep growing because climate mitigation and adaptation measures aren't put in place.
