Disaster prevention and management: An international journal - call for reviewers

Source(s): Emerald Group Publishing Limited

The Disaster Prevention and Management journal publisher asserts that natural disasters can wreck communities and natural resources - yet effective action by emergency services can do much to mitigate catastrophic effects. In contrast, man-made disasters are often the result of carelessness or human error, and can be avoided or better controlled by recognizing the potential for danger and taking preventative action.

Disaster Prevention and Management, an international journal, sets out to advance the available knowledge in the fields of disaster prevention and management and to act as an integrative agent for extant methodologies and activities relating to disaster emergency and crisis management. Publishing high quality, refereed papers, the journal supports the exchange of ideas, experience and practice between academics, practitioners and policy-makers.
