The Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC) is requesting proposals for consultancy services on Design Solutions for City Resilience. The consultancy will cover the overall design, development, prototyping and coaching services for the design solution process.

Understanding Risk is accepting proposals for both technical sessions and side events for the Understanding Risk Forum in May 2018. Technical sessions on topics such as machine learning, communicating risk information, and behaviour change using risk communication are especially sought after.

The International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) is calling on international climate experts to get involved in the drafting of a new ISO standard on “Climate Change Adaptation – A Guidance to Vulnerability Assessment”. A uniform approach to vulnerability assessments will allow for actors to work consistently based on internationally agreed procedures.

UNISDR-Africa seeks to document the good practices and lessons learned from youth engagement and related activities in the field of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. The publication will include success stories and visions of the youth to enhance resilience in Africa. Contributions are invited from individuals, organisations and youth networks.

Call for authors for white paper on next generation disaster data infrastructure, with a focus on (1) effective big disaster data collection, fusion, exchange, and query, (2) real-time big data analysis and decision making and (3) user-friendly big data visualization.

Nominations for the Hamaguchi Award for individuals and/or organizations that have made significant contributions to the enhancement of coastal resilience against tsunamis, storm surge and other coastal disasters are open until June 30, 2017.
