This country profile for Guyana provides a summary of available evidence on climate hazards, health vulnerabilities, health impacts and progress to date in health sector efforts to realize a climate-resilient health system.

Located on the South American mainland, Guyana experiences flooding, drought, and wildfires but is not highly exposed to hurricanes, volcanoes, or earthquakes. Guyana has yet to put into full force several pieces of resilience-building legislation.

The purpose of this study was to review selected National Adaptation Plans to better understand how disaster risk management is approached in climate change documents, and if systemic risk issues where impacts cascade across sectors are considered.
