Call for tenders: Future Infectious Disease Threats to Europe: A Foresight Approach

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control is in the process of developing a foresight programme. The scope of this tender is to contribute to the development of an Integrated ECDC ‘Foresight’ Study for the detection and identification of threats from Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) in order to prepare for the future. By identifying risks from EID, intervention strategies can be devised and technologies can be deployed to reduce the risk to public health.

The goal of this tender is to:

Identify the threat spectrum from EID in Europe over the next 3 to 8 years, by drawing on and realising the benefits of relevant work undertaken by others, and where there are gaps using the most appropriate expertise, evidence and technological advances to propose strategies for early detection, identification and monitoring of both EID and their drivers.
