Sichuan programme manager
This job posting has closed
Introduction
Since the Sichuan earthquake of May 2008, SCUK has been working in Sichuan province in China to respond to the needs of children. Through its office in Chengdu, SCUK has built a programme focusing on child protection, education and health interventions. Responding to changing needs in the earthquake affected areas is the immediate priority of SCUK, but a long-term programming need has been identified in Sichuan. Disaster risk reduction activities are now being piloted, other existing work expanded, and networks with government enhanced. It is envisaged that SCUK will maintain a long-term presence in Sichuan, eventually expanding its focus beyond the earthquake, both geographically and thematically.
The post will provide you a unique and challenging opportunity to apply your leadership, programme management and governance credentials. You’re an influential, effective negotiator with the ability to inspire others; ambitious and strategically minded, you’re also comfortable working with different cultures; and you have the passion to lead us in delivering greater performance in this area over the coming years.
Our selection processes reflect our commitment to the protection of children from abuse. Our people are as diverse as the challenges we face.
