Acclimatise is looking for a self-motivated MSc graduate with strong technical knowledge of physical climate systems and related natural hazards, combined with a commitment to make what we do even more awesome.

The role entails extremely varied and hugely interesting work that gives you the opportunity to make a real contribution to understanding and conveying the risks that physical climate change poses for businesses and governments, You will help us continue to shape the climate change adaptation agenda worldwide.

The cross-cutting nature of Acclimatise's advisory work means that the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on Acclimatise projects across our global portfolio and teams.

This solution-oriented position is about applying your technical fluency in the physical sciences to generate rigorous, meaningful insights that help our clients understand climate risks and opportunities, and adapt to a changing climate.

The successful candidate will primarily work on Acclimatise’s global portfolio of projects that focus on analysing climate change risk, vulnerability and resilience. You will use your scientific background to assess a range of climate-related physical risks, such as those driven by extreme heat, flooding, sea level rise and water scarcity.

You will bring a creative approach to the use of the latest methods and data to address client challenges.

As part of our ambitious plans for our Analytics business, you will also be given the latitude to propose and help develop new analytical tools and applications for climate risk.

Most of the time you will be working on more than one project, balancing competing priorities. You will also help to write winning proposals and undertake business development.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Sourcing, cleaning, and analysing multi-source datasets for climate risk and resilience advisory projects

- Using your analytical skills to understand the magnitude, frequency and probabilities associated with climate hazards, now and in the future

- Deploying climate risk and vulnerability assessment methodologies

- Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver advisory projects

- Statistical analysis

- Literature-based research

- Report writing

- Supporting our expanding Analytics business through contributing to the development of new and existing science-based digital applications and tools

- Presenting in training and workshop sessions

- Proposal writing and business development

Full-time · Cardiff. A combination of working from home and office is encouraged.
