Organizer(s) Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, the (GFDRR)
Date

As the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic reverberates around the globe, we are reminded that disasters have not been staying home and will need to be managed in a new and more challenging environment. The current global health crisis has been a stress test for emergency preparedness and response systems that are in place, and the governments are learning where those systems have strengths, and where they need to be improved and adapted.

This event will be the second session of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) building resilience during the Covid-19 crisis speaker series. Officials working on the front lines in India, Japan, and the Caribbean will share what they have learned so far about responding to and preparing for tropical cyclones during COVID-19, and what advice they have for others who are facing similar challenges.

Time: 08h00 - 09h00 am (Washington)
