The University of the Free State - Disaster Management Training and Education Centre for Africa (UFS-DiMTEC) in collaboration with the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) will organise the 12th Block course - “From vulnerability to resilience", from 17-28 February 2020 under the theme “Disaster Risk Management for Sustainable Development”.

The target groups are disaster management practitioners and students.

The overall goal of the course is to highlight the complexity and importance of vulnerability and resilience and possible coping and adaptation strategies in the field of disaster risk management.

Interested practitioners, students and institutions are welcome to apply or delegate one or two officials to attend. Participants will be chosen through a selection process based on their needs and fields of speciality. Practitioners from SADCand beyond as well as South African disaster management practitioners who are in disaster management portfolios in various departments are encouraged to apply.
