The Emergency Management Service of Georgia, in close cooperation with the private sector and eleven NGOs - Save the children, ASB, Bridge Innovation and Development, CENN, Georgian Red Cross, Society, IOM, Blue Shield, RDFG, Civitas Georgia, 100 Resilient Cities - celebrated the International Day for Disaster Reduction in the Tbilisi Mall. The main focus was on reducing economic losses of the "Sendai Seven" campaign.

The main goal of the event was to spotlight disaster reduction, raise awareness about disaster risks for the wider public, and promote a culture of risk awareness.

During the event, the Rescuers of the Emergency Management Service of Georgia demonstrated simulation exercises to the public and ensured the safety of children who were on the climbing wall. The emergency doctors also demonstrated first aid simulations. During the event, eleven participant NGOs organized quiz shows, training sessions (for example, about first aid treatment of broken limbs, artificial respiration, etc ...) and many other awareness raising activities for the young generation.
