Summer course on Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction in the Tropics
Ecosystem-based approaches are an important aspect in disaster risk management. Integrating ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction refers to working on dynamic, iterative and interactive issues and also promotes problem-based solution.
This course provides the participants with thorough theoretical framework and presents practical tools in understanding the linkage between ecosystemic and disaster occurrences. The main idea of this course is to promote and institutionalize ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction in order to maintain sustainability, through numerous real-world examples and most recent cases. This course is developed in collaboration with researchers and practitioners from CNRD university partners and employs worldwide standard curriculum.
