Climate change: when it rains it (really) pours

A new study by the Universities of Miami and Reading claims that due to a higher level of moisture in the atmosphere, more frequent and heavier rainfall can increase the risk of flooding and may have substantial societal and economic impact.

Investigating the changes associated with El Niño through 20 years of satellite observations, researchers could provide the first observational evidence to confirm the correlation between temperature and heavy rainstorms.
