How social media can play a major role in disaster forecasting and recovery
As world leaders will be negotiating climate change adaptation funding at the UN Climate Change Summit in Qatar next week, two experts (Julian Hunt and Pereira) writing for Reuters are urging goverments to support the use of social media in disaster forecasting and recovery.
Julian Hunt is Visiting Professor at Delft University of Technology and the Malaysian Commonwealth Studies Centre. Joy Pereira is Deputy Director of SEADPRI, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
