Trinidad and Tobago: Water management is top priority

"We are looking at a water management and flood mitigation plan and institutional changes. The drainage department has not changed to respond to our new realities," Minister of the Environment and Water Resources of Trinidad and Tobago Ganga Singh told Newsday. The Ministry will put special emphasis on water management and flood mitigation, particularly on drainage in risk prawn areas in this year's budget. Mr Singh also said, that authorities are preparing for an expected harsh drought season.
