19th annual TIEMS Iraq conference: Global network on emergency medicine conference
This conference focuses on current global health risks, and how best to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters in order to reduce human health impacts. The conference is aimed to help participants understand the nature of global risks, learn risk management strategies to prepare for disruptive events, and identify the best prevention methods in disaster management and public health. It will also provide a forum for the exchange of information between leading academics and partners in disaster management.
As the world deals with the loss of life, livelihood and wealth due to disasters, both natural and man-made, there is a growing recognition that many of these can be averted. The International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS) presents an opportunity to convene in an international platform at the annual conference to be hosted by TIEMS Iraq to focus on a lifecycle approach in the preparedness, management and relief efforts while addressing issues related to emergencies and disasters.
