UCCRN session on sustainable urban future: city solutions for climate change at the Rio+20 mayors summit

The objective of this meeting is to celebrate the decisive role of cities in utilizing the first UCCRN-led state-of-the-knowledge assessment and demonstrating that cities are indeed the first responders to climate change. The meeting will convene the world’s urban leaders, Mayors of global cities, and global scholars that are jointly shaping the future of urban sustainability. Key issues for the Second UCCRN Assessment Report on Climate Change and Cities (ARC3-2) will be explored in the context of emerging global economic, social, and environmental challenges that confront cities—the engines of global economies.
