Design for future climate change showcase conference

Organizer(s) Technology Strategy Board
Venue
12 June, at the Building Centre. Now open for registration
Date

This event will showcase projects funded during the two phases of the Technology Strategy Board Design for Future Climate: Adapting Buildings competition. It will provide an overview of why adaptation is important and showcase the challenges and opportunities that are available to built environment professionals, clients, decision makers and local authorities.

The event will provide the policy and practice context to adaptation from the points of view of engineers, architects and policy makers, to demonstrate future opportunities and how we can continue to develop the agenda. It will also give delegates the opportunity to hear from project teams that have been developing adaptation strategies in response to identified climate risks.

The presenters will highlight the innovative solutions they have developed to adapt their buildings in terms of comfort (e.g. management of internal temperatures), construction (e.g. stability of foundations in changing ground conditions) and water management (e.g. increasing resilience to flooding).
