Background

Now TIEMS members are working to set up a TIEMS Japan chapter as the fourth chapter in Asia. We will have a kick off workshop for TIEMS Japan chapter from May 22nd-23rd, 2012 in Tokyo. As the economies in Asian countries grow, so does risk. The tsunami disaster in Japan, and flood disaster in Thailand had a huge impact on the global economy. In such situations, global emergency management and the construction of resilient communities are crucial. The goal of this workshop is to participate in activities for setting up resilient communities and start the coordination of standardized emergency management systems in Asian countries, and globally. We would be grateful if you joined this workshop to share your experiences and discuss standardized emergency management systems.
