Japan: Levitating homes are possibly solution to 'natural' disasters

One of the technological advances that have been developed to prepare the country for possible future 'natural' disasters such as the earthquake that struck Japan on March 11 is the Air Danshin levitating system, an airbag-like system that keeps the home afloat when disaster strikes to help reduce impact. According to Digital Trends, the system as been installed in 88 homes across Japan so far. The system is said to be effective and to cost 1/3 of other earthquake-proofing systems with little maintenance.
