A year on from devastating floods in central Queensland, communication improvements have been a major focus for regional councils. According to ABC, councils will be continuing their work on flood systems and processes. "We have got some of the recommendations from the flood study to look at and we've got to go through that process with a number of the state agencies and organisations that are impacted by it," said Central Highlands Regional Council Mayor Peter Maguire. "They might not necessarily prevent flooding but certainly some of the things that are proposed should help mitigate against some of the effects of flooding."
