How shared resource use management through reciprocal grazing agreements can increase resilience - Technical brief
This technical brief focuses on approaches and practices used among communities that support dialogue and negotiation as pre-requisite for creating disaster-resilient communities in Africa. Such practices include the reciprocal resource agreements that are a common feature in pastoralist customary traditions. It further asserts that by strengthening traditional reciprocal grazing agreements it is possible to enhance feasible climate change adaptation practices among the pastoral communities who are highly affected. This is the focus of VSF Germany, as part of a consortium with VSF Switzerland and VSF Belgium.
