A symposium on scaling up risk reduction efforts in Nepal will be held including the presentation of a new disaster risk reduction programme for Nepal by a joint consortium (World Bank, Asian Development Bank, the International Federation of the Red Crescent (IFRC), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)). A field trip for media to a melting glacier is also planned to highlight the negative impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations.
