Hori Tsuneki

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Expertise: Risk assessment and identification studies, facilitation of sector dialogues and communication with key stakeholders, preparation for strategic sector notes, design and executing disaster risk management projects mainly for Latin American and Caribbean countries.

Hori Tsuneki graduated from the International Environmental & Disaster Management, Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, Japan. Dr. Hori joined the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in 2007. Before that, he worked in the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for more than ten years and in private entities for several years.

Dr. Hori has published several books and many articles in international journals in the field of disaster risk management, including the recent books “Local Disaster Risk Management in a Changing Climate: A perspective from Central America (2014)” and “Disaster Management and Private Sectors - Challenges and Potentials (2015)” both published by the Emerald Publishing of UK.
