This virtual event will feature the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction, Mami Mizutori; Sasakawa Award winner and Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister of India, Dr PK Mishra; and other high-level participants from around the globe who will reflect on the impact of COVID-19 in particular, and disasters in general, on countries’ health infrastructure and supply chains and make recommendations that can be fed into broader international and national level policy processes in 2021.

This webinar aims to accelerate and support the delivery of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction’s Target (d): “Substantially reduce disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services, among them health and educational facilities, including through developing their resilience by 2030.”

ABOUT CDRI: Launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at the 2019 UN Climate Summit, the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) includes Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Bhutan, Fiji, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Maldives, Mauritius, Mongolia, Nepal, Peru, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, have all endorsed the CDRI Charter. Four multinational organizations—the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and the UNDRR are supporting partners.
